Agents of Shield

In the aftermath of the Battle of New York when the chatari were defeated by none other than the Avengers, the world is left with the disturbing notion that the world is not as normal as it seemed. Agent Grant Ward of S.H.I.E.L.D is recruited for a special team by the supposedly dead Agent Phil Coulson. They're job as a team is to bring "world peace" and get rid of technologies that many people want to use to their advantage. They also have to deal with people who see S.H.I.E.L.D as the enemy that withholds information from the public.

Who is your friend and who is your enemy, who is right and who is wrong, and is technology evil or is technology good? This show is really good, and I feel like that it perfectly fits into he Avengers franchise. It's only gotten a few episodes but it really is going to go somewhere.

I would totally recommend this for most of the family. I would say 10 and older should be allowed to see it. It has some violence, some vulgar language, but for the most part it's pretty clean. It's a lot like the Avengers movie's as far as it goes for cleanliness.

This show is very good for the family and hasn't gone far into the series so I would try to catch up before you fall too far behind!

The Faults in our Stars by John Green

Hazel is still trying to fight dangerous lung cancer and has lost all hope that she will ever get any better. But when a boy who has just defeated cancer slides into her life she finally has something to live for. In this book Hazel has her dreams come true but along the way she also has to realize maybe there isn't always a happy ending. She learns that life is worth living and that you should be able to do all you can because life is short. She learns that you need to keep fighting to the bitter end.

This book was a wonderful tale of romance, comedy, and tragedy wonderfully written by the smart and amazing John Green whose works I adore. It was beautifully described and the ending was so good I had a hard time not shedding a tear or two.

I do not recommend this book for kids under 14 because the characters in this book have sexual relationships before marriage. There is also swearing and drinking in this book and I would strongly encourage adult permission under the age of 14.

This book was so good that they are making a movie of it and it will come out sometime in 2014. I hope that you will read this amazing book.

I also want to encourage people to please comment to me I want to get more recommends of movies and books and such. Thank you!

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

For those of you that have seen the trailer and for those who have not. I encourage to you read this amazing book to prepare for the movie! It might be old fashioned for young readers. It was written in 1985 so I know some adults probably loved this book as a kid. I know I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see the movie!

The book is set in the future (the future of 1985). Before the future of this book, alien invaders came and attacked Earth twice almost wiping out the human race. 70 years later they need a new leader to prepare for the next invasion. The government comes to 6-year-old Ender Wiggin and sends him to battle school. As Ender gets older and learns more. He not only has to worry about the buggers, but he has to worry about society, students at battle school that hate him, and even himself. But he will also learn the importance of survival, friendship, and love. Ender also will to learn if he's really humanity's hero or just a mistake.

This book it a great book that I think can be read by ages 10 and older. Keep in mind that the movie will be pg-13 because of violence, especially murder, and because of vulgar language ( oh and I do want to remind parents if you don't want kids saying bad words that they hear. TELL THEM WHAT THEY ARE FIRST. I know some kids that had to learn the hard way).

The book was really exciting and suspenseful. It kept me reading to the very end and afterward I was left in awe. It was so well done I had a hard time wanting to stop talking about it with my friends who were reading it about the same time. There were so many characters and if you look closely then you can find that each character represents something important both to the story and to Ender.

I hope though that all teenagers will read this book because it is an American Classic and very very good. I loved this book and cannot wait to see the movie.

Possession by Elena Johnson

Possession is about a 15 year old girl who likes to think for herself. The government now controls what you do, who you merry, and how you live your life, but Violet is determined to do what she wants. When she is caught after dark with her boyfriend Zann she is taken where she won't cause trouble. Then she meets Jag, who also likes to break the rules and they both want to break out. Violet must choose between good and evil, Zann and Jag, her sister or her father, and make the right choices to save herself.

This book was pretty good. It had a lot of good story lines that the author did really well of portraying in my opinion. This book was great for young adults and that was definitely was the target audience for this story. Had a great mixture of action, romance, and themes. It also had a little Si-Fi magic and technology which I liked, and it really fit in to the story.

This story is for definitely for teenagers because it has some swearing and some passionate kissing. This is not for kids under about 13.
This was a really good book and it is going to become a series, so I would get reading!

Adventurers wanted: Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman

Alex Taylor is a 15-year-old who wishes for a more exciting life. At least something better than doing the dishes at his step-fathers restaurant. One day Alex spots a sign from the window of a local bookstore:
Adventures Wanted: Apply from within
From the minute Alex steps into the bookstore he is taken on a wild adventure full of magic, new worlds, and new people. And what is the purpose of this adventure? Only to rid an evil dragon from the world and take it's treasure. But Alex learns that there is more to this adventure than the action. He has to learn about loyalty, honor, and friendship along the way.

This is a great family book that can be read out loud to anyone. Kids will love it because it has some fun characters, teens will love it because of the action, and adults will love it because of the lessons it teaches. There is killing though the book is not at all graphic, but still it might not be great for really young kids because it might encourage them to fight or be physical. I have a younger sister at the age of 5, and when she watches or listens to fighting, she becomes more violent with her vocabulary and actions. I would keep this away from kids about that age but other than that this book is great for kids about 9 or 10 if you choose to read it out loud to them.

This book is most likely aimed at teenage boys, but me being a teenage girl I loved it anyways! Like I said it's got action, but it also has great lessons and a fun plot that most teens can relate to. The book is written is great detail, very strong worded and has some hidden meanings hidden in between the lines. Adults can look forward to reading to there children before bed without getting bored!

Slathbog's Gold is only the first book out of three that are from the Adventures Wanted series and there is a forth book coming out in November. I can't wait to read the other books! I hope that you guys out there who are looking for good books will find this as enjoyable as I did!

We Bought a Zoo

We Bought a Zoo, based on a true story, is about a family made up of a dad and his son and daughter. They are still trying to deal with the loss of their mother/wife. When the father's daughter wants to move somewhere more fun, he buys a house and an old zoo! They all make new friends while trying to reopen the zoo.

This movie was really fun to watch and it is indeed made for families. It's got clean humor, though it does have alcohol and swearing. There is a part where a character makes a painting that is really gory but of course it's just a painting. Very young kids will not get these parts but they will also not completely get the whole movie. There are some romances though nothing but kissing. Overall the violence, language, drinking, and relationships are at an appropriate minimum that is okay for most kids.

This book is a really cute and touching story. What makes it even cooler is that it was a true story and what they accomplished was pretty amazing. I would totally recommend this for family night!

Studio C from BYUtv

I don't know about you guys out there but most of us probably love the skit show Saturday Night Live but the problem is that it has some dirty jokes in some of the skits. I bet more of us would watch SNL all the time but you don't know if there will be a dirty joke or not.

Studio C created by BYUtv is a great skit show. It's just as funny as SNL but without the dirty jokes. It's appropriate for kids but also is super funny for teenagers and adults too. It has some nice clean humor that is fun for the whole family! Though it's a family show, the younger kids might not get all the jokes being a show written by adults. Also, sometimes the jokes include things about zombies and killing so you might not what to let kids under maybe 9 to watch it. They just wouldn't be old enough to understand.

If you don't have the the BYUtv channel on your cable, every episode made is on byutv.com for free. The times for the show's airing is also on the website. I love watching this show and I hope that most of you will also love and enjoy it too!

Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams

This book is about a 13-year-old girl named Ingrid who plays soccer and reads the famous stories of Sherlock Holmes. She lives in a quite town and longs to play the lead role of Alice in the community theaters production of Alice in Wonderland. But when Ingrid's literally brand new friend suddenly is murdered, she'll have to find the murderer they find her, and before the police start pointing fingers at Ingrid herself!

Let me start off by saying this was actually a good book for kids. They labeled it as young adult but really there was really no violence and the author didn't go into the murder to deeply. He just briefly skimmed it without much detail. Although, there wasn't much violence they did have a creepy character and there definitely was suspense. As for romance, I will tell you to that there is a guy in this book that is Ingrid's age but he's only there because she's a teenage girl and has crushes. It was also pretty complected being a mystery so this might not be for kids under maybe 12. I think this book was also good for teenagers and adults too. Even though Ingrid is 13, she sounds more mature then she is and interacts with a lot of adults.  The book was well written and very clever. It also ties in with Alice in Wonderland and there is a hidden meaning between the stories.

This book is a great book for preteens to young adults and  does not fail to please the audience with mystery, suspense, and a good moral.

What's new?

Hey, What's new?
This is Liv here trying to find media that is fun and CLEAN. I made this blog to find clean books, t.v. shows, and movies that are fun for most young kids and are still enjoyable for teenagers and adults. I will do some of the media that I want, but do you have any new media to suggest? I will read and watch it and give it a review that judges on how clean it is and also how good it was. Also comment on what you think about my review!
